Tag Archives: Page Rank

We often hear the term No Follow and Do Follow when it is related to Page Rank increase purposes as there are some websites that allow Do Follow while others do not and choose to remain No Follow. However, what do the terms mean and how do they affect the Page Rank?

Do Follow

Do Follow websites mean that the websites are passing page rank when there are people do some activities in them such as like forum postings or blog comments. So, when you post any to these Do Follow websites with back links to your website, you are able to increase your own website page rank as the websites allow it by removing the No Follow Tags.

As the Do Follow website owners, this will result on you having to pass and share page rank to those who post in your website. There will be no bad effect if those posters do not have bad credibility and are not spammers. However, what if they are? If they are; consequently, your website page rank will decrease as search engines surely do not like spammers.

Furthermore, as the ones who post in the Do Follow websites, it enables you to gain higher page rank by posting to these websites as they are passing page rank when there are links back to your own websites. But it is better that you do not misuse this chance to do spamming activities.

No Follow

No Follow websites mean they have insert No Follow tags in their websites so they do not pass page rank when there are somebody posting anything to their websites with back links. With the No Follow tags activated, there are effects for both the websites owners and the visitors who post.

For the No Follow website owners, they do this so it doesn’t attract spammers or page rank hunters to post there as I believe you will not be attracted to post in No Follow websites when you are in the need to increase page rank. Additionally, by using No Follow tags, they don’t lose their precious Page Rank to others as they can keep it all for them.

For those who post, as it has been mentioned just now, No Follow websites will not help you at all to gain page rank as they are not sharing it. If you are willing to gain page rank, it is better to find Do Follow blogs or forums websites so you are not wasting your time. However, if you are just looking for traffic or having any no intention at all, then you can keep on posting in No Follow websites.

So, what I will ask now is, which one will be your choice and what will be your purposes?

After you’ve found the strategies about how to get more and more traffic to your website, the next thing you are thinking of must be about increasing your Page Rank, which is a system to rank websites and give them Page Rank. But what’s so important about it?

To tell you the truth, websites that have higher Page Rank are usually considered more important and they are mostly listed on the first lists in search engines, compared to lower Page Rank websites. Page Rank ranges from 1 to 10, meaning that if your website rank is 10, it’s perfect.

Seeing that Page Rank is significant for your existence in search engines, learning some ways to improve Page Rank is useful and also learning to avoid things that can decrease Page Rank is also crucial.

Dos

Here are some that can optimize and increase your Page Rank. First, try to get yourself involves in community websites, such as forums. But keep in mind that they need to be communities related to your website, or at least, general communities that have topic or forum section about your website topic.  Then, post there!  In every posting, create and use signature with back link to your website.

You can also write articles and submit them to article websites. Write helpful articles related to your website and business, which builds your public reputation. At the end of your articles, you can put reference source with back link too to your website so the readers know who write the interesting and helpful articles.

Next thing, pay attention to your website contents by spell checking your website pages. Search engine prefers correct spelled words to misspelled words. If there are misspelled words, it will try to automatically correct search keywords. However, there are certain websites that tend to misspell their contents on purpose as they believe that it can generate more traffic to their sites.

Additionally, you can learn from your competitors. Do some research for competitive keywords in search engines, go to the first few sites (your competitors’ websites) with high page rank, and analyze them. From it, you will see what they have done differently and why they get better Page Rank.

Don’ts

If your website has just been published, you better have no advertisements placed on it yet because search engine is sensitive to websites that seem to be advertisements farm sites and will not index them for quite some time. Just try to have your site up for one month or so with the contents ONLY before placing any advertisement. The time is actually not really measured so it can be a shorter or longer time.

Also, do not have duplicate contents. Avoid copying contents from other sites or any  other way that leads your site being considered as duplicate. Because, if it is detected by search engine, as a duplicate site, your website will not be indexed.

It is better if you just take some relevant parts from other websites but remember to acknowledge the original sources. Make sure that you do not link to the same page like for example http://www.abc.com/ and http://abc.com/. Why? It is because some search engines consider that as duplicates.

By understanding these, you will learn to get a better website Page Rank so that your website can  have more possibility to be listed on the top of search engines.

When your site seems to be your whole life, SEO and SEM are no longer unfamiliar in your ears. However, do you really notice that they are different “roads” to take although they share the same idea, to drive more traffic to your site? Have you figured out which one to use for improving your site traffic? Or, deciding the best is still a big question mark for you? If so, let me help you erase all the confusion.

How is the Idea of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Everybody must have the picture of what SEO is in your mind. Nevertheless, nothing wrong to review it again. Frankly speaking, SEO refers to the strategies of increasing traffic site with appropriate keywords or tags, site design and structure, coding, or whatever directed to natural site optimization to target different search types such as usual search, image search, or others.

SEO is done through the calculation of mathematics, computer languages, and linguistics to define what people search for and to attract more clicks on a website. It basically aims to improve the site rank in search engines, especially those leading search engines such as Yahoo, Google, or Microsoft. Why do you think rank is important? Very simple. The higher your site rank is, the better chance for attracting more visitors. And the higher traffic your site has, the higher your chance to grow your business and gain success.

And what about Search Engine Marketing (SEM)?

People say that SEM is almost or exactly the same with SEO since they share the same purpose, to drive more traffic. However, when you dig deeper, you will know they work on different paths. When SEO has stuffs to do with coding, computing languages, calculation, designs, and structures (simply free of charge if you can do it by yourselves), SEM already includes SEO and paid listing or inclusion. You get what you pay for. Webmasters define SEM as internet marketing strategies.

This term, SEM, didn’t appear suddenly. SEO developed as SEM when it began to expand the strategies into marketing and advertising chances, pioneered by leading search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, by paying some amount of money to get included or listed. These are obviously beneficial for your site traffic. You pay and they’ll do the job for you. When you decide to use SEM, that will cover all possibilities to increase your site traffic and rank, involving payment for inclusion in search engines and listing in directories, online marketing strategies, and the SEO itself.

To Decide which One…

This now depends on how far the online success you want to achieve. It is now very crystal clear that both are very essential for your website revenues. There is none that  is exactly the best. The combination between them will be a great chance for you to develop online. What you need to do is calculating how much budget you want to spend since SEM is more costly than SEO only. However, money does talk. You can say that what you pay is what you get.
