Service Update - Increased Security Level |
 |
|
 |
We would like to inform you that we have increased
the security level on our mail servers. You are now REQUIRED
to authenticate before you are granted access to send out
any emails using our mail servers. For those who understand,
we are using SMTP-AUTH protocol for all our mail servers.
To make sure you did not miss anything out and can use our
SMTP server properly, please follow the instructions on setting
up your mail account on your Outlook Express program
through this flash tutorial: http://www.hostdepartment.com/flashtutor/hsphere23_OE.htm

We have done this to prevent any SPAM originating from inside
our network. Don't you just hate it to received all those
junk emails every day? We all want to keep that away, and
this is our intention to contribute for the internet to be
a spam free world!
RECENT UPDATES FROM
ISPs It is very possible that due to recent updates
with many ISP's, SMTP functionality has been removed and they
are now forcing clients to use their SMTP servers. This is
done mainly so they can regulate the flow of mail and prevent
spam. Although your account is on our server, your data is
being sent through their pipelines and spam complaints are
often directed to ISP's as a last resort. Please contact your
ISP concerning this. Listed below are reported ISP's that
have enacted this policy as well as the SMTP servers that
are known to work with them. Please note that this has not
been confirmed, rather we have received these reports from
our customers.
