Our servers are located at NAC datacenter, which features a fully redundant BGP4 enabled
network which increases uptime and overall
network speed.
Currently our servers run RedHat Linux 7.3 using a 2.4.x kernel, with a heavily optimised Apache web server for maximum
website efficiency. Server loads are monitored carefully to ensure that load times remain fast 24 hours a day. A standard server configuration is shown below.

Announcements
2002-10-30 22:47:06 - NAC
network maintenance will be conducted between the hours of 0100 and 0300 EST, 0600 and 0800 GMT. New equipment is being installed to maintain the high level of
network quality. During this period you may notice higher than usual ping times but no outage should occur.
2003-01-24 04:38:43 - QOOL Shared is currently down, recovery ETA in 15mins or less. Current cause of failure unknown.
2003-01-24 10:09:56 - QOOL Shared is up a few hours ago. We had a serious kernel issue in which we had to change kernel versions to get the server to boot. The cause of the kernel issue is a probably hacking attempt.
2003-01-25 08:31:14 - NAC Announcement There is currently an issue with many of the inter
nets servers spawning traffic to random addresses on UDP port 1434. This is causing excess traffic and latency on all major inter
net backbones worldwide. At this time we do not know the cause of this but we suspect it is a problem with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 machines. The only known re
solution is to firewall port 1434 to and from your server (to prevent being infected again), and reboot. At this time this is still speculation, but after about 1 and 1/2 hours of troubleshooting and diagnosis, and actually performing the steps listed above on several servers, the problems have gone away. More details to follow shortly.
2003-02-06 20:43:26 - QOOL Shared experienced a small
mysql problem resulting in some
php scripts not working correctly for about 2 minutes. This is now resolved.
2003-02-12 12:33:50 - QOOL Shared is undergoing maintenance again.
2003-02-12 13:03:12 - QOOL Shared is back online, but lacks the GD & imap
php module. We are currently investigating this issue and try to compile
php with those modules asap.
2003-02-13 15:51:42 - QOOL Shared is going down for a reboot. ETA ~5 mins
2003-02-14 01:03:11 - Maintenance on QOOL Shared. ETA ~10mins
