What is Host Department’s Affiliate Program?
Host Department provides this Affiliate Program to help you generate income the easy and fast way. If you have a web site, you can earn money by promoting Host Department’s Web Hosting, using banner and text links provided by Host Department. Every time a visitor clicks a link on your site to go to Host Department’s Web Hosting and then becomes a Web Hosting customer, you earn commissions.

How do I join?
Read the terms of our affiliate agreement first and complete an Application Form to apply to become a Host Department Affiliate. If you're accepted, just copy and paste the provided HTML codes onto your web site to display links to Host Department Web Hosting. The links will contain a unique account code to credit you for subscriptions that are generated from your site. When a visitor clicks on one of these links and purchases a subscription from us, the affiliate control panel will track your code, calculate your commissions, and provide you with real-time reporting and commission checks.

Do I have to have to be a Host Department customer to become an affiliate?
No, you do not have to be a Host Department customer to join our affiliate program.

Is a web site required to become a member?
Yes. If you do not yet have a web site, please apply after your web site is live and fully functional. Without a web site, we have no means of evaluating your application.

How much will I be paid?
You'll be paid 25% of the total web hosting sale for every web hosting customer that you refer, based on the option purchased.
Please note that you will not be paid commissions on transactions that are not made in good faith, including, but not limited to, using any device, program, robot, I-frames, hidden frames, JavaScript popup windows, or redirects, and that chargeback's may be effected for refunds, fraudulent transactions, etc.

When and how often will I receive my commission?
Commissions are paid within 10 working days after you have emailed a written request to affiliatecashout@hostdepartment.com. Minimum payouts are at $10 and above.

Am I required to place a link on my web site?
There is no restriction in you having to put a link on your website, but without it, you will not be able to earn any commissions.

What technical skills do affiliates need to have?
Affiliates only need to be able to copy and paste HTML code and place it accurately within the code of a web page or within an email!

Where do I get the required links and banners to be an affiliate?
We provide a vast selection of links and banners in several colors, designs and sizes as well as text and editorial for you to use throughout your site.

Where should I place the links on my web site?
Place the links in areas where visitors to your site are most likely to see them.

How often should I change the banner and text links on my site?
Change it as often as you want to keep it fresh for your visitors. Understanding your visitors' preferences will maximize your click through, and resulting in earning you a higher commission.

How do you track my affiliate transactions?
Our affiliate program utilizes cookies to track sales generated by your links. Cookies are used when your ad is clicked and when a sale is placed by a referred customer. The function of these cookies is solely for the purpose of correctly giving the dues that our affiliates earned when a consumer makes a purchase.

How do I track my sales activity and commissions?
Account activity such as the number of click-thru, conversions, commissions and account status can be viewed in real-time through the affiliate program summary and the in-depth stats area of your account. Simply log in to your affiliate control panel to view this information.

What about customers who have their cookies disabled?
Most of the internet users have cookies enabled in their browsers and because it is a reality that will remain a part of consumer tracking for individual Internet businesses. In a situation that a customer has cookies disabled, the customer is out of the range of publisher tracking and sales that occur cannot be tracked.

Does Host Department access unique information on customers or site visitors?
No, we do not use our affiliate tracking technology to track or log information other than is necessary to perform this service.

How do you know which affiliate to pay for a sale?
Being a cookie-based system, we have the ability to pass unique information regarding the affiliate and the advertising links used to the customer. That information resides within the customer browser for however long that cookie lasts or until that customer purchases a product.

Can I use my commission towards web hosting fees or services?
No, Affiliates cannot use commissions towards web hosting fees or upgrades directly.

Can I participate if I reside outside of the United States?
For sure! We have affiliates from almost every country, and most of our affiliates sell our products across the globe. The only consideration for affiliates is that they must have a PayPal account for us to transfer any of the earned commissions.
